About Compress Imgs
Compress Imgs was built with a simple mission: to provide the best image optimization tools without compromising your privacy or costing you a dime.
Who Runs This Site
Compress Imgs is built and maintained by [YOUR NAME], an independent web developer based in [YOUR CITY, COUNTRY]. There is no large company behind it, just one person who writes the code, tests every tool on real devices, and reads every message that arrives through the contact page.
Why It Was Built
The idea came from a frustrating evening spent filling in an online application form. The portal wanted a photo under 50KB and a signature under 20KB, and every compressor I tried either asked me to upload my documents to an unknown server, buried the download button under ads, or produced a file that was still a few kilobytes too large. Uploading an ID photo and signature to a stranger's server just to make them smaller felt wrong.
So I built the tool I wanted: one that hits an exact size target, converts between formats, resizes in bulk, and never asks you to hand over your files. Today the site covers general compression, size-targeted compression for form uploads, JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC conversion, and resizing, and new tools are added based on what visitors ask for.
How Your Images Stay Private
Most online image compressors require you to upload your files to their servers. This means your personal photos, confidential business documents, or unreleased artwork are sitting on someone else's computer.
Compress Imgs works differently. When you open a tool, your browser downloads the page and the processing code, and that is the last time anything needs to travel over the network. When you drop in an image, it is read straight from your disk into the browser tab's memory. Compression, resizing and conversion run locally using the browser's Canvas API and WebAssembly, and the result is handed back to you as a download generated on your own device. Your image is never sent anywhere, so there is nothing for us to store, log, or leak.
You don't have to take our word for it. Load any tool, switch off your Wi-Fi, and process an image: it still works, because no server was ever involved. You can also open your browser's developer tools and watch the network tab while you compress a file. No upload request appears.
Why Is It Free?
Because we don't process your images on our servers, our server costs are incredibly low. This allows us to offer all our tools completely free of charge, with no file size limits, no watermarks, no sign-up and no premium tiers.
